OUTDOOR CAPE TOWN was founded in 2015 in an effort to bring people together who enjoy the outdoors and hiking. This was primarily started as a group for people to find like-minded people to hike with, as unfortunately hiking alone can be dangerous (due to injuries, crime, etc.).
What’s Our Vision?
We are on a mission to prove that the outdoors can be for everyone. Fitness level, age, not having someone to join you on a hike or being new in town should never be a factor to keep you from enjoying the outdoors! Everyone can benefit from the fresh air and exercise. We live in such beautiful city we should take advantage of the clean air and the amazing scenery all around us. And with the support of a network like OUTDOOR CAPE TOWN, people can find others to venture out with or find trails on their own through our advice to hike and walk on.
What are the benefits of becoming a VIP club member?
- First option on hikes – VIP club members are notified of events before they are announced on Meetup.
- No hiking fee – The hiking fee for the day hikes is included in your membership.
- Weekend & overnight hikes – Be the first to receive exclusive invites to hiking weekends away and overnight hikes.
- Bring a friend! – Bring a plus one to a (non permit) day hike at no additional cost.
As a VIP member you do not pay meetup fees for any event (exceptions will be clearly stated on the event, i.e. parking guards, permits, entrance fees, tickets, etc.). Memberships are paid annually in advance and will be valid for a full 12 months. Children under 18 can join hikes at no charge provided they are under the supervision of an adult.
